Products and Services Catalog (PDF, 204 KB) (revised July 2008)
This module offers selected topics from the Behavioral Risk Factor Survey (BRFS), a representative, statewide telephone survey of Wisconsin household residents aged 18 and older. The module includes only topics which appeared in the survey since 2000.
To get BRFS estimates for all 72 counties in Wisconsin, or for counties not found in the State, Regions and Selected Counties (Trend Data) module, use the All Counties Module (2004-2006 combined data). Additional guidance on which BRFS module should be used is also available.
The Wisconsin BRFS is part of the national Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (exit DHS), which is coordinated by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Every state health department conducts a survey as part of the system, whose purpose is to measure adult health-risking behaviors, health conditions and the use of preventive health services.
To define your query, choose a topic (BRFS definitions) from the list in Step 1. This will be the row variable in your table. You may then use Step 2 to define a column variable for the table by selecting either years, geographic areas, a respondent characteristic or a second survey measure.
If desired, use Steps 3-5 to further refine your request. Select one or more available data years in Step 3. Step 4 lets you produce results for Wisconsin statewide; DHFS regions; selected counties; or the City of Milwaukee and the balance of Milwaukee County. Step 5 lets you focus results on subgroups of respondents.
