Healthiest Wisconsin
2010: An Implementation Plan to Improve the Health of the Public
A Shared Responsibility of All Public Health Partners
in Wisconsin
The Implementation Plan represents the work and vision of
Wisconsin’s public health partners (see partial list below). The Department was one of many
partners who developed this plan, which represents the ideas of all the
partners not just the Department.
While the Department of Health Services embraces its pivotal role in providing statewide
leadership to implement the plan, all of Wisconsin’s public health
system partners share responsibility for implementation. This shared
responsibility exists between government and the public, private,
nonprofit, and voluntary sectors.
Wisconsin's public health partners are an emerging set of individuals,
agencies, and organizations concerned with the health and safety of
Wisconsin residents. Partners include but are not limited to:
- Institutions of higher education
- Primary and secondary schools
- Social workers
- Environmental specialists
- Toxicologists
- Health educators
- Policy makers
- Business and commerce
- Transportation
- Natural resources
- Agriculture and veterinary science
- Nutrition
- Nursing
- Medicine
- Epidemiologists
- Scientists
- Dentists
- Dental hygienists
- Allied health professionals
- Community health centers
- Mutual assistance associations
- Community health centers
- Local and state elected officials
- Advocacy organizations
- Professional associations
- Faith communities
- Anyone concerned with the health and safety of the people of
Wisconsin.
