Pharmacy Consolidation Project
The budget directed the Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS)
to achieve $25 million in general purpose revenue (GPR) savings during
the 2007-09 biennial budget by modifying the provision of pharmacy
services that are currently provided through managed care contracts.
To comply with this budget item, the DHFS will carve pharmacy out of
Medicaid managed care benefits beginning February 1, 2008.
