Coordination Services for Recipients Not Ventilator-Dependent
When more than one nurse is providing care to a non-ventilator-dependent recipient, Wisconsin Medicaid requires an RN on the case to provide coordination services in accordance with HFS 107.12(1)(d)1.c., Wis. Admin. Code. An LPN may not provide coordination services.
Wisconsin Medicaid does not reimburse RNs for coordination services for recipients of the PDN benefit who are not ventilator-dependent. As specified in HFS 107.12(1)(f), Wis. Admin. Code, Wisconsin Medicaid reimburses nurses only for the actual time spent in direct skilled nursing services requiring the skills of a licensed nurse.
