Arrangements with Nurses in Independent Practice

Nurses in independent practice are self-employed and are not employees of Wisconsin Medicaid. It is the responsibility of the recipient or his or her legal representative to arrange for care with each NIP, including the care coordinator. Recipients are strongly encouraged to verify the qualifications, malpractice insurance, and background information of each NIP before hiring the nurse.
