Wisconsin Medicaid Family Care Guide

The Office of Strategic Finance (OSF) and the Division of Health Care Financing (DHCF) are pleased to provide you with a copy of the new Wisconsin Medicaid Family Care Guide.

The Family Care Guide offers important information for Medicaid fee-for-service providers who make services available to Family Care – Care Management Organization (CMO) members. While Family Care has not been implemented statewide, the Family Care Guide is being sent to all Medicaid fee-for-service providers in selected counties because providers in counties that do not yet offer Family Care may, on occasion, need to provide services to CMO members.

The Family Care Guide includes information such as:

The Family Care Guide consolidates most Family Care information previously published in Wisconsin Medicaid and BadgerCare Updates into a single, easy-to-use reference source (please see attached page for a list of publications this guide replaces). It does not replace the All-Provider Handbook and all-provider Wisconsin Medicaid and BadgerCare Updates, the Wisconsin Administrative Code, and Wisconsin Statutes. Subsequent changes to the Family Care policy will be published first in Wisconsin Medicaid and BadgerCare Updates and then in Family Care Guide revisions.

During the development of this handbook, we sent out copies for comments to the Fond du Lac, La Crosse, Milwaukee, Portage, and Richland county Care Management Organizations. We would like to thank everyone who reviewed the draft handbook and submitted comments.
