The look of the Wisconsin Medicaid and BadgerCare Updates is changing. Effective immediately, all new and revised policies and procedures will be announced in BadgerCare Plus Updates. The new look coincides with the introduction of BadgerCare Plus, a new state-sponsored health care program that will begin in February 2008. The monthly summaries will also have a new look, beginning with the monthly BadgerCare Plus Update Summary for November 2007.

Updates are the first source of provider information and providers are reminded that they are responsible for all information included in Updates. Updates announce the latest information on policy and coverage changes, prior authorization submission requirements, claims submission requirements, and training announcements. Providers may obtain copies of Updates listed in the Update Summary from the Medicaid Web site. Providers without Internet access may call Provider Services at (800) 947-9627 to request a paper copy of an Update.

Information Regarding Medicaid HMOs

This Update contains Medicaid fee-for-service policy and applies to providers of services to recipients on fee-for-service Medicaid only. For Medicaid HMO or managed care policy, contact the appropriate managed care organization. Wisconsin Medicaid HMOs are required to provide at least the same benefits as those provided under fee-for-service arrangements.
