Healthy Smiles for Wisconsin Initiative

The Healthy Smiles for Wisconsin initiative is a statewide effort to improve the oral health of Wisconsin children through school and community partnerships (government agencies, local social services organizations, health professionals, hospitals, schools, technical colleges, service organizations, etc.)  The initiative is based on the belief that no child in Wisconsin should go without adequate oral health care, and the effort utilizes prevention services, and education to achieve its goals. The Children's Health Alliance of Wisconsin collaborates closely with the Division of Public Health to support the goals of Healthy Smiles for Wisconsin including the Seal A Smile Initiative and the Wisconsin Oral Health Coalition.

The Healthy Smiles for Wisconsin Initiative works to address three main issues of oral health:

  • Dental Sealants (Seal A Smile)

  • Youth oral health surveillance and data collection

  • Oral health education
