Wisconsin
Oral Health Program
Donated Dental Services
Donated Dental Services (DDS), a statewide charitable program, offers
free dental care to individuals who are permanently disabled, chronically
ill (physically or mentally) or 65 or older and who are indigent and
do not qualify for state or federal assistance.
The free care is made possible through the generosity of volunteer
Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA) dentists who donate their professional
services through their private offices. In addition, members of the
Wisconsin Dental Laboratory Association participate by providing
laboratory services. Major funding for the administrative costs of the
program in Wisconsin is provided by the Department of Health and Family
Services.
For the first six years, Wisconsin’s DDS program operated under the
administration of the National Foundation of Dentistry for the
Handicapped. DDS now operates under the umbrella of the Wisconsin Dental
Foundation, a non-profit organization established by the WDA, and is
headquartered within the WDA Milwaukee offices.
Additional DDS program information and eligibility requirements can be
obtained by visiting the WDA Web site
