with Disabilities or Chronic Illnesses


Disability Programs Index and Services for People with Disabilities from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. These pages include links to information on programs and resources for Wisconsin residents affected by disabilities.

The Wisconsin Chronic Disease Program (WCDP) offers assistance to Wisconsin residents with chronic renal disease, hemophilia and adult cystic fibrosis.

Consumer Information Reports, from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, provide information to help you assess the quality of care provided by facilities for people with developmental disabilities.

Easter Seals Society of Wisconsin (exit DHFS):  Easter Seals' mission is to increase independence, maximize opportunities, minimize barriers and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. Here you will find information on Easter Seals programs, services, and special events in Wisconsin. 

The Family Village (exit DHFS) Web site, sponsored by the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, brings together information for persons with cognitive and other disabilities, for their families, and for those that provide them services and support.

Wisconsin Coalition for Advocacy (exit DHFS) is a private, nonprofit agency that provides protection and advocacy for people with disabilities throughout Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Council on Developmental Disabilities (exit DHFS) plans and advocates for support for people with developmental disabilities in Wisconsin.

ABC for Health (exit DHFS) is a nonprofit public interest law firm that focuses on health care access in Wisconsin with a special focus on families with children who have disabilities.  Its health benefits counselors can suggest coverage or payment options you may not be aware of. The firm's services are free to families with children under the age of 19 and pregnant women.
