Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias

• Alzheimer's Association - Greater Wisconsin Chapter
• Alzheimer's Association provides a search feature that can help you find your local chapter. It also provides CareFinder, an online tool that can help you determine your care needs and care options.
• Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute is part of the UW-Madison Medical School, Department of Medicine.

Arthritis

• Arthritis Foundation:  Information on Wisconsin chapter and branches.
• Wisconsin Arthritis Program from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services.

Blindness or Low Vision

• Guide to Services for the Blind or Visually Impaired:  Information from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services' Bureau for the Blind on resources and programs available to persons who are blind or visually impaired.

• Wisconsin Council of the Blind

• National Federation of the Blind provides a list of Wisconsin resources for the blind or visually impaired.

• The Badger Association of the Blind is an organization affiliated with the American Council of the Blind.

Brain Injury

• Brain Injury Waiver Program:  This waiver program provides home- and community-based services for people with brain injuries who need significant supports and meet eligibility requirements.

• Wisconsin Chapter of the Brain Injury Association provides information specifically for individuals with brain injuries and their families.  The site also includes information and links that may be of use to people and families facing other types of disabilities.

Cancer

• American Cancer Society - to locate Wisconsin offices.

• Wisconsin Pain Initiative is a voluntary organization of health care professionals and representatives of higher education and government dedicated to the relief of cancer pain.
  

• Cancer.gov from the National Cancer Institute provides information on treatment options, clinical trials and coping with cancer.
  

• Wisconsin Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society serves people touched by leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma.
  

Cerebral Palsy

Cystic Fibrosis

• University of Wisconsin Cystic Fibrosis Center provides care to patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). In addition to information about the Center's clinics, this Web site also includes ordering information for the Cystic Fibrosis Nutrition Handbook and Cookbook and links to other CF resources.

Deaf or Hard of Hearing

• Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, part of the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, provides information, referral services, support, and training for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Developmental Disabilities

• Developmental Disabilities Services and Programs, from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, provides information on programs for those with developmental disabilities including autism, brain injury, or mental retardation.

Diabetes

• Wisconsin United for Mental Health, a partnership of public and private organizations created to educate Wisconsinites about mental illness, provides information about mental illness on its Web site.

• NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) Wisconsin:  This site includes a directory of organizations in Wisconsin concerned with mental health issues.

• Wisconsin Family Ties is a private not-for-profit organization that provides advocacy, referrals and education for parents of children with mental health problems.
