Services for Seniors:  This page from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services provides information on Wisconsin programs and services for older people and caregivers.

Eldercare Locator (exit DHFS), from the US Administration on Aging, can help older adults and their caregivers find local services for seniors. Eldercare Locator can also be reached by phone at 1-800-677-1116.

Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) (exit DHFS) provide and coordinate preventive, primary, acute and long-term care services to older adults who want to remain in their community. Community Care Organization, Inc. (exit DHFS) runs the Wisconsin PACE program. The program is currently available only to residents of Milwaukee and Racine counties. More limited programs are available in other Wisconsin counties. Call 414-385-6600 for information on the Milwaukee County program and 262-633-4800 for information on the Racine County program.

AARP (formerly the American Association of Retired Persons) (exit DHFS) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to helping older Americans achieve lives of independence, dignity and purpose. Health care is a very important issue to AARP.

The Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups (CWAG) (exit DHFS) produces a wide variety of publications on topics of interest to the elderly community. You may view publications on-line or order copies electronically or by mail. CWAG is a non-profit, non-partisan organization concerned with issues affecting older persons and their families.

 Elderly Benefit Specialists can help you figure out what benefit programs you are entitled to join and tell you what you need to do to sign up.

  • Nursing homes

  • Residential facilities

  • Hospice organizations

  • Adult day services
