CARES "moves" are updates or fixes to the CARES system. Each month, this page will include the moves that will have the greatest impact on CARES users. CARES moves are generally made each month on the Friday after adverse action. Move dates are planned in advance, however, for a variety of reasons, decisions may sometimes be made to delay or change move dates. This page will be updated monthly with the best information available.

  1. CARES will be fixed to correct the issue where information is auto populated on AFWG (mainframe) or Employment Page (CWW) with zero in the override fields and an AP code and the case incorrectly budgets zero income instead of the correctly autopopulated amount.

  1. There will be an enhancement to the SSAU process where an extra check will be done to make sure the person is truly disabled when the disability onset date is sent from SSA.  The Unearned Income page will display the following:

SSDI- If the individual is <62 and the BIC code is = “A”

SSRE-If the individual  is > =full retirement age and the BIC code is “A”

SSDI-If the individual is >=62 and< full retirement age, and there is a valid disability onset date.   If not, then SSRE will be set as the income type.

  1. A system error was setting on the General Case Information page when a census tract higher than 1000 was entered.  This will be fixed to allow census tracts higher than 1000.    This is  a Milwaukee County issue only.

  1. The Employment/ Unemployment query process was causing performance issues for CWW.  A temporary page was put out in place of the Employment/Unemployment Queries summary page.  The Employment/ Unemployment Queries summary will be returned to CWW and the temporary page removed.

  1. For a TFS case where  the filing date was updated, the question “TRANSITIONAL FS OPEN, DO YOU WANT TO RE-APPLY FOR REGULAR FS?”  was not displaying on the FoodShare program request page.  This is being corrected to show the question on the FoodShare program request page when appropriate.

  1. Alert 134 “WORK INFO CHANGE - CHECK AFEI" was not generating from the Employment page for the Work Programs case manager.  This alert will now generate to the Work Programs case manager when new employment is added, existing employment is deleted (for any reason other than AE), or if the income decreases by 25%.

  1. When the same number was entered for both the primary SSN and the Alias SSN, the SSN was not carrying forward to the Relevancy Results and General Case information pages correctly.  An edit is being added to not allow the primary SSN and the alias SSN to be the same and thus prevent this situation.

  1. When only Medicaid was requested (BC was not requested) for a single person case, the pregnancy page and the disability page were showing some fields as beige that should be white or required.  The field shading is being corrected to ensure required information is gathered.
