Report
Attached is the Division of Supportive Livings (DLS) 1999 Annual Report of the
reportable deaths reviewed under ss. 48.60(5) (a), 50.035(5) and 51.64, Wis. Stats.,
(created by 1989 Wisconsin Act 336). DSL has the responsibility to investigate the
circumstances of a death of a person served by a variety of institutional, residential and
community-based treatment programs overseen by DSL when there is reasonable cause to
believe that the death resulted from the use of a physical restraint or seclusion, a
psychotropic medication, or is a suicide.
