Subject: Beth Wroblewski Appointed Director of the Bureau of Long Term Support

I am delighted to announce that Beth Wroblewski has been appointed to the position of the Director of the Bureau of Long Term Support effective September 30, 2007.

Beth brings a wealth of experience to this position having worked in the county system, for a non-profit organization, and more recently, in several positions with the Department of Health and Family Services.

Beth has deep roots and experience in developing and overseeing services to individuals with disabilities, as well as frail elders including those with dementia. She has worked as a community integration specialist, supervisor of the children's services section of the Bureau of Long Term Support and recently as the Interim Director of the Bureau of Long Term Support.

Beth holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and developmental disabilities as well as a Certified Public Manager certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is also the recipient of the Victor J. Contrucci Outstanding Service Award from Wisconsin Council on Developmental Disabilities and the Elliot Shaw Professional Service Award.

Beth's compassion for people and deep commitment to actively involving individuals and stakeholders whose lives are impacted by policy decisions will be a tremendous asset to the Division as we continue expanding Family Care and developing improved service systems for children with disabilities. Her commitment to quality of services will be another asset in the Bureau's continued responsibility to manage and oversee waivers for children, as well as the Self-Directed Supports Waiver. She will work with the excellent BLTS staff to assure high quality services and supports through the CIP, COP, and BIW waivers and other programs for adults and elderly until Family Care has expanded statewide.

The Bureau of Long Term Support is composed of four sections:

  1. Developmental Disabilities, directed by Mike Linak
  2. Community Options, directed by Irene Anderson
  3. Community Integration Initiative, directed by Jackie Neurohr (Rueden)
  4. Children's Services, with a vacant supervisor position

Please join me in welcoming Beth to her new position!
