Subject: Division of Long Term Care reorganization announcement
I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Henkes as Director
of Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC). Jim brings to this appointment a
career dedicated to people with developmental disabilities. He started his
career in 1981 providing direct care services as a Resident Care
Technician. His first supervisory appointment was in 1989 when he was
promoted to a Resident Care Supervisor. Since then Jim has assumed
progressively greater levels of responsibility including duties as an
Institutional Unit Supervisor, Program Services Director, Management
Services Director and the SWC Deputy Director. Most recently Jim has very
capably served as the Interim Director of SWC.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University
of Wisconsin - Parkside and is a licenced nursing home administrator.
Jim impressed me as a person of considerable integrity who possesses
both the personal values and administrative skills that will be so
important to the SWC mission. He also impressed me because he has a great
vision for SWC to become the very best Center possible.
This appointment is effective August 5, 2007.
Please join me in welcoming Jim Henkes on his appointment as Director
of Southern Wisconsin Center.
And finally, thank you, our partners, for your continued commitment to
excellent services to people with disabilities and Wisconsin elders
