Welcome to Southern Center!

SWC is a state operated intermediate care facility for persons with mental retardation (ICF/MR) facility that specializes in serving individuals with developmental disabilities, often combined with mental illness and certain problem behaviors.  SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs.    SWC also offers specialized outreach services for people with developmental disabilities who live in the community. 

Located in Southern Wisconsin near Union Grove, SWC brings together a rich history and state of the art treatment approaches for the new millennium.

Southern Center is owned and operated by the State of Wisconsin's Department of Health and Family Services, Division of Disability and Elder Services.
