Northern Region Conference on Health Care Disparities for Individuals
with Developmental Disabilities
The conference held in Marshfield on April 20, 2007 featured
nationally known experts in the field of Developmental Medicine and
Dentistry, Matthew Holder, MD, MBA; Carl Tyler, MD; Steve Zelenski, DO,
PhD; and Henry Hood, DMD, who discussed from an interdisciplinary
perspective the needs of a person with multiple medical, dental, and
psychiatric concerns.
Following the morning presentation conference attendees
participated in self-selected workgroups to identify regional issues and
make recommendations for a regional improvement plan. The
workgroup's results will be compiled, published, and used for organizing
regional improvement initiatives.

Waisman Center
The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about
human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative
diseases throughout the lifespan. The center is one of nine national
facilities that includes a Mental Retardation Developmental Disabilities

Disabilities.
