Community Integration Initiative NW Training Sessions

Northwest Region Training Offerings

All of the following training opportunities are designed to be meaningful to persons working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities in the community. These opportunities are available to assist Adult Family Home Providers to fulfill training requirements of Chapter HFS 88 (88.04[5]) Wisconsin Administrative Code (PDF, 96 KB).

Goals and Objectives (developing goals/progress)	2 hours
Introduction to Autism	2 hours
Introduction to Essential Lifestyle Planning	1-2 hours
Meeting the Challenge of Difficult Behaviors	4-6 hours
--Caregiver values and attitudes	30-60 minutes
--Proactive approaches	1-2 hours
--Function of behaviors	1 hour
--Safe responding in difficult situations	1 hour
--Recognizing and responding to escalating behaviors	1 hour
--Developing a supportive environment	1 hour
Mental Illness and Developmental Disabilities (Anxiety-Depression-Obessive Compulsive Disorder)	2 hours
Oral Health and Nutrition	1 Hour
Relationships and Sexuality	2 hours

Training segments can be provided separately or together in a three or four-hour training session.
