The American Foundation for the Blind is a national nonprofit
organization headquartered in New York City, with offices in Atlanta,
Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco, and a governmental relations office in
Washington, DC.
It is a one-stop information and referral resource for people who are
blind or visually impaired.
They are one of the leading publishers of professional materials on
blindness and low vision, such as the "Journal of Visual Impairments
and Blindness."
They are the pioneers in the development of "Talking Books"
and a major producer today. They also represent the interests of blind or
visually impaired people before Congress and government agencies.
