Proposed Restructuring of the
Division of Public Health

The information on this page pertains to a report to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Services prepared by Department staff that develops and examines options to restructure and/or shift responsibilities for public health in a way that will improve the health of the people of Wisconsin.  There is also information regarding a proposal to create a Public Health Institute in Wisconsin, including links to webcasts of public forums about this proposal.

Options for a Public Health Institute

As a follow-up to the proposed restructuring of the Division of Public Health, DHFS Secretary Helene Nelson created a committee to examine the issues related to a Wisconsin Public Health Institute. The Committee was charged with: "preparing a concept paper to lay out the issues and develop the pros and cons for a Wisconsin Public Health Institute."
