Administrative Rules - Governance Information Site

The Administrative Rules Page is at adminrules.wisconsin.gov

To State of Wisconsin Administrative Rulemaking Entities:

We invite you to join our agencies in offering Wisconsin citizens on-line access to a full-featured website that provides an easy way for citizens to monitor and participate in your rulemaking. The application is one of the nation’s most sophisticated in that it allows anyone to register to receive free email notifications of rulemaking actions for subjects of the subscriber’s choice, and permits posting and viewing of comments on individual proposed rules. Our agencies launched this new public service on May 30, 2003. Now, any member of the public with Internet access can participate in the rulemaking process through the Internet. You can view the new website application at:

adminrules.wisconsin.gov

Managing your rules on the site is relatively simple and surprisingly easy and cost effective. Most agencies will pay NOTHING to participate. Only the agencies with the most admin. rule code will pay either $1,000 or $3,000 per year. Our agencies have already contributed the development costs. This application is an excellent example of sharing services among State of Wisconsin agencies to better serve the public at very little incremental expense.

The documents we’ve provided below should give you some of the details you may need to assess your interest in participating in this unique application of e-government. We have formed a governance council to manage this application. Council membership is composed of participating agencies. If you have additional questions or would like assistance evaluating your participation in this unique public service, please call or contact any of the people below for more information.

Jorge Gomez, Commissioner, OCI
Helene Nelson, Secretary, DHFS
