Reimbursement
Reimbursement for provider-administered drugs includes reimbursement for the administration of the drug. Therefore, providers should not submit claims for an administration code (i.e., CPT procedure codes 90782-90788 or HCPCS codes G0351-G0358) concurrently with a drug code or concurrently with any other administration code except in the following instances:
- When the medication is supplied and independently billed by a pharmacy using an applicable NDC.
- When the recipient possesses and provides the medication for injection by a provider.
In these situations, only one administration procedure code may be reimbursed for the same provider for the same recipient on the same DOS for the same provider-administered drug.
