Winnebago Mental Health Institute

Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI) serves as a specialized component in a community-based mental health delivery system.  In 1973 the State made county boards responsible for the general care and treatment of the mentally ill.  WMHI is responsible for meeting the needs for specialized services that cannot be met by community agencies.  Winnebago's programs are designed to serve children, adolescents, adults and forensic patients requiring specialized mental health services.
