The Division of Public Health's Diabetes
Prevention and Control Program, Arthritis Program, Well
Women Program, Comprehensive
Cancer Control Program, Physical
Activity and Nutrition Program and Tobacco Control
Program are partners with a direct relationship to
the CVH program, sharing many of the same prevention efforts.
Diabetes and heart disease share most of the same risk factors, and most
diabetics develop heart disease.
The use of tobacco, primarily from smoking, is directly linked to vascular
disease and hypertension, both forms of cardiovascular disease.
