Each month, people across Wisconsin use FoodShare benefits to add to their purchasing power when shopping for healthy food items for themselves and their families. They are people of all ages who have a job but earn low wages, are living on small or fixed income, have lost their job, retired or are disabled and not able to work.

Wisconsin health officials track the spread of West Nile virus

With the first confirmed case of a human with West Nile virus this season, it's good to remember that birds can act as an early warning system for West Nile virus. People who find a dead crow, blue jay or raven (possible indicators of the virus) should call the Dead Bird Reporting Hotline at 1-800-433-1610.
